Dr Sue Channon

Director and Senior Research Fellow

Sue currently combines her work in the Research Design and Conduct Service South East with Chief Investigator and Co-investigator roles on research studies in the Centre for Trials Research, Cardiff University. Sue has a clinical background as a NHS Clinical Psychologist in Paediatrics with expertise in child development, impact of long-term conditions on psychological wellbeing and family-level psychological interventions. Her main areas of research have been in health behaviour change and reproductive health, in particular obesity and pregnancy. Sue is interested in developing a systemic understanding of processes surrounding intervention delivery, how context impacts outcomes in research studies, and has experience of leading process evaluations in large randomised controlled trials in both health and social care.
