Clinical Lead for Research and Innovation workstream - Public Health Wales
An opportunity has arisen for a Research & Innovation Development Clinical Lead to join the National Strategic Clinical Network for Cancer, part of the NHS Wales Executive, hosted by Public Health Wales. This network unites medical, clinical, and project professionals in a supportive and dynamic team, driven by clinical knowledge, patient experience, research, and new technologies in cancer care.
They are seeking a clinical lead who values cancer research as crucial for improving outcomes and contributing to a Learning Healthcare System. The role involves one clinical session per week, with potential for additional national opportunities. The successful candidate, working at a consultant level, will provide strategic direction and expertise for the Research & Innovation Programme and various cancer sites and service groups within the network.
Key responsibilities include acting as a professional resource, leading projects to improve national guidance, enhancing access to clinical trials, and fostering collaboration across Wales, including with Health and Care Research Wales, the Industry Forum, and the Cancer Research Strategy Group. Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills are essential for successful delivery.
