 What experience do I need to help?

  • have personal experience of perimenopausal or menopausal symptoms
  • have a friend or family member you’ve supported with perimenopausal or menopausal symptoms
  • have accessed the common ailment service in Wales
  • experience of using healthcare services in Wales
  • be comfortable in attending online meetings through Microsoft Teams
  • have access to emails to give feedback and share your thoughts about the project’s development

In Wales, community pharmacists provide care under the Common Ailment Service which provides care and support for patients along with education, update patient records with the information provided and signpost treatment options.

The research team would like to improve menopause care for women by using community pharmacists to provide education, access to treatments, informed patient care and quicker access to treatments.

What will I be asked to do?

Contribute ideas and feedback on the study documents, public facing information and plans for the public involvement in the study at the meetings.

How long will I be needed for?

5 x 1-hour meetings until January 2025 and feedback by email for before/after each meeting or similar?

The project will be submitted in January 2025.

What are some of the benefits for me?

 Our team will: 

  • Cover reasonable travel expenses and additional carer or childcare costs,
  • Offer payment for time of £25.00 per hour (people can request less if they are in receipt of state benefits).
