Use your interest and experience to become a Co-lead Research Partner at the Public Engagement and Involvement Hub.
The Centre for Trials Research (CTR) is looking for a member of the public to help Co-lead the Public Involvement and Engagement Hub. This hub brings together members of the public, academic leaders and research staff from across the centre. Its role is to support public involvement and engagement, making sure that involving people and sharing information is a key part of everything the Centre for Trials Research does.
- What experience do I need to help?
- An interest in health and social care and supporting the aims of the Centre
- Considerable experience in public involvement in health and social care research
- Confidence in representing the public voice in committees
- The ability to join virtual meetings and access documents using Teams
- A willingness to attend occasional meetings in Cardiff
- What will I be asked to do?
- Attend six Hub meetings a year. These last one and a half hours and may require you to review documents before each meeting.
- Attend Study Adoption Group meetings on a rota basis of two per year.
- Attend two Strategic Board meetings per year. This will require reading and reviewing documents prior to each meeting.
- Share your ideas and participate in discussions about reports and the future plans of the Centre.
- How long will I be needed for?
You will be asked to be part of the Hub for two years in the first instance with a view to renewing if mutually agreed.

- What support is offered?
- Cover reasonable travel expenses and reasonable carer or childcare costs
- Offer payment for time of £25.00 per hour (people can request less if they are in receipt of state benefits).
- Successful individuals will be supported by the CTR Director who will provide ongoing support. The CTR Academic Lead for Public Involvement and current Hub Research Partner will provide induction support to the successful individuals.
