Do you live in Wales and have Type 2 diabetes?

Help Public Health Wales to review a study and help improve the lives of people who have Type 2 diabetes in Wales by providing feedback on your lived experience.

What experience do I need to help?

 You will need:

  • personal experience of living with Type 2 diabetes
  • an ability to review documents and provide feedback from a patient’s perspective 
  • an understanding of the challenges of managing Type 2 diabetes and engaging with health services

Researchers would like your help in reviewing study information that will help people manage their Type 2 Diabetes. This is a one-off task and can be completed via email. You may also have the chance to be involved in steering group meetings for 3-4 months.

What will I be asked to do?

You will be asked to review the study documents and provide feedback on how clear it is to understand from the perspective of someone living with Type 2 diabetes.

How long will I be needed for?

For the initial document review, around 1 hour. There may be future involvement in steering group meetings for 3-4 months.

What are some of the benefits for me?

  • Your feedback will ensure the study reflects the public’s perspective.
  • Opportunity to contribute to research aimed at improving the management of Type 2 diabetes.

Their team will: 

  • Cover reasonable travel expenses and additional carer or childcare costs,
  • Offer payment for time of £25.00 per hour (people can request less if they are in receipt of state benefits).
