Do you want to help improve cancer research in Wales?

Help researchers increase recruitment in commercial cancer studies in Wales over the next two years. 

The Welsh Government and the research community in Wales are committed to improving the lives of people with cancer. Expanding access to and accelerating the delivery of high-quality clinical trials is central to this and to the Tackling Cancer initiative, which aims to improve public and patient access to research and reduce inequalities in outcomes across Wales. Clinical trials offer access to cutting-edge treatments and refine existing ones, and Wales has received investment which will help expand capacity to deliver commercial cancer trials and improve the lives of patients.

What experience do I need to help?
  • experience of being part of a clinical trial for cancer research
  • experience of public involvement in health and social care research
  • interest in increasing commercial clinical trial in Wales
  • Interest in increasing the diversity of people who participate in clinical trials
What will I be asked to do?
How long will I be needed for?
  • You will be asked to attend up to four meetings a year, until 2027. Reading documents and attending meetings will be around three to four hours.

What support is offered?
  • Cover reasonable travel expenses and additional carer or childcare costs,
  • Offer payment for time of £25.00 per hour (people can request less if they are in receipt of state benefits).
  • You will be supported by members of the Stakeholder meeting who will be able to brief you around the meetings.
