Professor Simon Dymond

Director

Simon earned his undergraduate and PhD degrees from University College Cork, Ireland, and has held positions at Bangor University and Anglia Ruskin University. Since joining Swansea University in 2005, he has directed the Experimental Psychopathology Lab, where his group conducts translational neurobehavioral research on avoidance, anxiety, gambling behaviour, and the treatment of disordered gambling. Recent research has focussed on the prevalence of gambling-related harm among vulnerable populations (e.g., military veterans), incentive-based therapy for gambling recovery, the neurochemistry of impaired decision-making, and gambling-related suicide.
