Health and Care Research Wales and Cancer Research UK are pleased to announce the launch of a new opportunity for cancer nurses working within NHS Wales to access training and education grants. This initiative aims to support the development of research-related knowledge and skills among cancer nursing professionals, helping to improve patient care and foster a culture of learning.
What’s on offer?
Grants ranging from £250 to £1,000 are available to support cancer nurses in pursuing educational and training opportunities that:
- Enhance your role and skillset
- Contribute to patient care and team development
- Include a research-related component
Eligible training may include:
- Short courses or workshops
- Research-focused conferences
- Online training modules
- Training in research methods or data analysis
- Hosting your own workshop or mini-conference (must include a research element)
Eligibility criteria
To apply, you must:
- Be a nurse working in cancer care within NHS Wales (e.g., cancer specialist nurse, oncology nurse, chemotherapy/systematic anti-cancer therapy nurse, healthcare support worker, palliative care nurse, or acute oncology service nurse)
- Apply for training that is relevant to your current role
- Demonstrate how the opportunity has a research focus
