If you have experienced poor mental health and taken part in research before, researchers at Bangor University would like to hear from you.
Help shape an application for funding that will test “EQUA-Co” – a new tool for equity and accountability in mental health research. Researchers are planning a new study to make mental health research fairer and more inclusive. Join us for one meeting to share your thoughts and help improve our funding application.
- What experience do I need to help?
Lived experience of mental health challenges (for example, having received a mental health diagnosis).
Some experience of being involved in research as a public contributor (this could be any level – even just once before).
No special skills or qualifications are needed – your perspective and feedback are what matter most.
- What will I be asked to do?
Take part in one meeting of about an hour and a half
Hear a simple overview of the research plans and a plain English summary
Share your thoughts and feedback on the application

Your feedback will shape how researchers work with people who have lived experience of mental health challenges.
You’ll learn more about how research funding applications are developed.
If the project is funded, you could be invited to join a longer-term co-production group.
- What support is offered?
Cover reasonable travel expenses and additional carer or childcare costs,
Offer payment for time of £25.00 per hour (people can request less if they are in receipt of state benefits).
