Health and Care Research Wales welcomes largest analysis of UK health research funding
22 January
A report published today by the UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) delivers the most comprehensive analysis of UK health research funding ever compiled.
Bringing together data from 146 charity, professional and public sector organisations, including Health and Care Research Wales, the UK Health Research Analysis 2018 found that in 2018 these funders contributed £4.8 billion to support research to improve human health.
This latest report is the fourth in a series that charts changes in health research over the last 14 years.
Michael Bowdery, Head of Programmes at Welsh Government’s Research and Development Division, said:
“We very much welcome this report. It’s an excellent way for funders to understand the research landscape right across the UK to ensure we work together using our collective research expertise to address the health and care challenges that all nations are facing.”
