Help us develop a programme of heart failure research for Wales
We are inviting people with experience of heart failure services to help us develop a meaningful and relevant research programme in Wales. Your insights will help identify priorities and guide decisions that impact real lives.
You’ll work alongside researchers and healthcare professionals, contribute through monthly online meetings and be fully supported throughout your involvement. This is your chance to make a difference in heart failure care and research.
- What experience do I need to help?
You don’t need any previous research experience to help - just personal experience related to heart failure services. That could include:
- Living with heart failure yourself
- Supporting or caring for someone with heart failure
- Using heart failure services (such as clinics, rehab or hospital care)
- Having thoughts or concerns about how heart failure care could be improved
We're looking for a range of voices from across Wales. What matters most is your willingness to share your views, listen to others, and help shape research that reflects the needs and priorities of people affected by heart failure. Full support and guidance will be provided throughout.
- What will I be asked to do?
As a public contributor, you’ll be asked to:
- Join monthly online meetings (no longer than 2 hours) to share your views and ideas
- Read and comment on documents in advance of meetings (we’ll keep these clear and manageable)
- Help identify priorities for heart failure research based on what matters most to people with lived experience
- Support the design and planning of future research studies
- Give feedback on how research is carried out and shared with the public
- How long will I be needed for?
- 1 year, starting in July 2025.
Commitment:
- Monthly online meetings, each no longer than 2 hours.
- Occasional time before meetings to review documents (likely 1–2 hours per month, depending on the materials).
