Biography

Jana Jezkova is a clinical scientist at the All Wales Medical Genomics Service (AWMGS). She works in the rare disease team, where she helps diagnose patients with genetic disorders. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a diplomat of the Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath). In addition to her clinical work, Jana is also an active researcher.

Her research interest is in utilising state-of-the-art genomic technologies and bioinformatics tools to improve the care of patients with genetic disorders. Particularly, she is interested in the use of rapid whole genome sequencing to enable faster and precise diagnoses for critically ill children. She has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals on the use of genomic technologies in clinical practice.
