Lona Tudor Jones
Research & Development Manager
Lona started her career as a teacher in communications and business skills in Higher Educational Institutions, but decided to move to the NHS to work in the field of radiology. She then transitioned to an Academic Unit at the North Wales Hospital, Denbigh working as a Clinical Audit Manager in substance misuse and post-traumatic stress disorder. Having undertaken the Culyer declaration exercise for the Assembly, Lona moved to work as a Research and Development Manager for Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust, North Wales NHS Trust and now Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Through working on and supporting a number of research studies across North Wales, she has developed close links with acute, community and academic partners across the research community. For her BSc(Hons), Lona focussed on research with children and young people, and for her MSc in Advancing Healthcare Practice, concentrated on leadership and management in health and social care.
Lona is also a Certified Good Clinical Practice Facilitator, research systems advisory group member, support and delivery operational group member, change management board member and an attributing the costs of health and social care research (AcoRD) specialist.
