Biography

Dr Kelly Morgan is Director of the School Health Research Network (SHRN) at Cardiff University’s School of Social Sciences, based in the Centre for Development, Evaluation, Complexity and Implementation in Public Health Improvement (DECIPHer). 
Her research spans two main areas: school-based health research and the evaluation of public health interventions. She has led and contributed to several major public health research programmes and initiatives, both past and ongoing, with a focus on improving physical activity, dietary behaviours, and mental health among children and young people.

Kelly is a co-investigator on the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR)funded Public Health Intervention Responsive Studies Teams (PHIRST) Insight team, co-producing research with local authorities on the public health impacts of real-world initiatives. She has substantial methodological expertise in routine data linkage and mixed-methods research, including feasibility trials, and regularly delivers methodological training in public health intervention science.
