New online public involvement training pack now available in Welsh and English

6 April

Behind the academics and scientists and care providers, sit a whole host of people helping with health and social care research. Involving people in research leads to better health and social care for all.

All research should support the general public to get involved, and a new online training pack has been developed in partnership with Health and Care Research Wales based on the work of the UK Standards Partnership Group.

The online pack provides everything you need to know on the UK Standards for Public Involvement, providing a clear framework for enabling good public involvement in research.

Public Involvement Manager at Health and Care Research Wales, Rebecca Burns who worked alongside the training team at Health and Care Research Wales Support and Delivery Centre to develop the pack, said: “By creating an online pack, it means we have more opportunities to train more people from across Wales. The training can be completed on your own or with others as part of a group and only takes around an hour.

“This new pack will maintain the high standard of public involvement in which we pride ourselves on here in Wales.”

The training includes a video and a workbook and can be conducted in Welsh or English.
