New opportunity for members of the public to help The Royal College of Occupational Therapy fund the research that matters
The Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT) is looking for two people with an interest in occupational therapy and research to help them make sure the research they fund benefits the people who use occupational therapy services.
The RCOT are the professional body for occupational therapists, with over 33,000 members across the UK. Every year, their Research Foundation provides grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 to individuals researching key areas of occupational therapy. Their Research Foundation Advisory Group meets once a year to decide which applications should be awarded grants.
You would join their Research Foundation Advisory Group and help decide which research proposals should receive funding each year. You would need to be able to commit to attending one meeting a year (you can dial in virtually) and doing some reading beforehand. They will support you in the role, compensate you £150 a year for your time, and pay reasonable expenses.
They’d love to hear from you if you have accessed occupational therapy services yourself, or know someone who has, and you have an interest in research.
The deadline to apply for this opportunity is Wednesday 31 March 2021.
