Biography
Esther Goodhew is a Speech and Language Therapist working in the stroke team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. She has worked in the Stroke Rehabilitation Centre (SRC) and in 2023 is the Senior Specialist post in the Early Supported Discharge Team (stroke) and the Community Neurological Rehabilitation Service.
Esther’s enthusiasm for music stems from her previous career as a professional viola player and determined to combine her twin passions of music and speech and language therapy, she set up an Aphasia Friendly Choir on the SRC in 2019. Her keen interest in research has led to poster presentations at the Welsh Stroke Conference and the UK Stroke Forum 2021, where she was the recipient of The Tavistock Trust for Aphasia Poster Prize.
She is a Research Capacity Building Collaboration (RCBC) Wales First into Research Fellow and a research champion for the Adult Speech and Language Therapy department at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
