Submitting an abstract for Support and Delivery Day 2025 is for everyone

The Support and Delivery Day will be held on 8 July 2025 at Cardiff City Stadium. If you haven’t yet registered, please register here. The deadline for registration is 17:00 on 20 June 2025. 

Why submit an abstract? 

By submitting an abstract to Support and Delivery Day, you’ll have the chance to: 

• Develop your confidence as a presenter in a supportive, professional environment. 
• Gain experience in translating your work into clear stories for different audiences. 
• Learn by doing and gaining experience in abstract writing and presenting. 
• Celebrate your own achievements and highlight the impact of your team. 
• Receive peer feedback and ideas for your next phase of work. 

You can submit an abstract for a poster, a TED-style talk, a presentation, or a workshop choosing a format that helps best tell your story and share your practice achievements. 

Stella Wright, Lead Research Officer, from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, alongside Lucie Parry, Advance Nurse Practitioner, submitted an abstract for the  Support and Delivery Day 2023 – Team Wales: collaboration for resilience and growth and had their abstract accepted. Stella said: 

We were delighted to have an abstract accepted and get an opportunity to do a 10 minute presentation on ‘How perseverance is key in Primary Care- Can we recruit them? Yes we can’. 

“It was the first event attended in-person in several years due to COVID-19, so it was slightly nerve-wracking seeing the large audience but it was such an exciting opportunity to present our work around increasing clinical research uptake in primary care.” 

As Stella and Lucie prepared to present, they found support from the Health and Care Research Wales team helpful in navigating the process and finalising their contribution. 

Presenting at the event gave allowed them to build their confidence, engage with policy updates and connect with other research colleagues from across Wales. It also gave them the chance to reflect on the innovative work happening in health and social care research in Wales and see where they fit in the bigger picture. 

How to submit your abstract? 

1. Register for Support and Delivery Day 2025 
2. Once registered, the abstract submission link will appear on the confirmation page and will be emailed to you 
3. Submit your abstract by 17:00 on 12 May 2025 

This year, we are particularly looking for abstracts exploring: 

• Innovation in research delivery approaches and models – creative methodologies, new ways of working and improvements in research practice 
• Making time for research – real-life examples of embedding research into clinical or social care roles 
• Doing commercial research differently – innovative approaches to working with industry and increasing the impact of commercial studies
