Public Involvement in a Pandemic

This year Health and Care Research Wales signed up to a new public involvement matching service, set up by the Health Research Authority (HRA) to connect COVID-19 researchers with patients and the public who can help to ensure that vital research is as high quality as possible.

The HRA have written a report about what we’ve learned about public involvement in a pandemic (and beyond). We want to share it with the UK research sector and have a conversation about what should be done next.

The report will be launched at a virtual event on 13 January 2021. HRA Chair Professor Sir Terence Stephenson will introduce the report, there will be a recap its main highlights, and video case studies from some of the patients and the public who helped to improve COVID-19 research on the ground, before opening up the discussion to attendees from the NHS, charity, industry, and patients and the public.
