Professor Michael Robling
Interim Co-Director CTR / Director, Division of Population Health
Professor Mike Robling is Interim Co-Director of Cardiff University’s Centre for Trials Research and Director of Population Health Trials. He is a psychologist, trialist and mixed methodologist with expertise in the development and evaluation of complex interventions in primary and secondary medical care, community and social care settings. He has led a research programme since 2008 evaluating the Family Nurse Partnership specialist home-visiting programme in England (Building Blocks, Building Blocks 2-6, BABBLE) and now in Scotland.
Professor Robling has substantive experience of successfully leading large multi-site complex evaluations, including behaviour change and professional training interventions. He is the Directorial Lead for research using routine data, for which the Centre has now established a national reputation and he leads or is co-applicant on several studies using linked routine data. Professor Robling is the Centre Lead for Public Involvement and Engagement and has also conducted methods research in this topic.
