Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Consolidation

Pre-requisites: Completion of online GCP e-learning in the past 6 months  

Facilitators: Health and Care Research Wales GCP facilitators

Course length: 3 hours

Course outline: 

A practical workshop designed to allow learners to explore and apply the knowledge they have gained from the GCP e-learning course with the support of experienced GCP facilitators.  

This interactive and engaging workshop will consolidate key learning from the Introduction to GCP e-learning. Learners will complete activities and group discussions to build on their understanding of key components of GCP. Facilitators will use real-life examples to illustrate key points and aid learning. There is a shared focus on CTIMP (drug studies) and non-CTIMPs, as well as clinical research and wider care and the community.

Course details:  

 This short course will:  

 Refresh core GCP learning from the e-learning 

  • Identify local processes which learners need to know 
  • Ensure a UK-wide quality standard for GCP consolidation training 

The format of the course will include presentations, interaction sessions and discussions.

Following the training, participants will be able to: 

Discuss the feasibility process and its importance   

  • Demonstrate an assessment of eligibility  
  • Appreciate the importance of monitoring, audit and inspection  
  • Demonstrate understanding of the data collection method through source data and CRF completion   
  • Define the classification of safety events appropriately   
  • Recognise different sources of safety information  
  • Give examples of study documents and how to manage these correctly  

CPD certification: Learners will receive a certificate for attending this workshop, however, the GCP e-learning certificate will be sufficient for the site file.  

This course is worth 2 CPD credits
