Course Outline:
This course focuses on the importance of Principal Investigator (PI) oversight in research studies. This is an interactive, small-group virtual workshop led by our experienced facilitators. We will cover the regulatory requirements for PI oversight, how to provide robust evidence of this process, and explore best practice examples and tools to support you in this role.
This course is suitable for PIs working on a range of different study types in clinical and non-clinical settings. It is designed for PIs who are already experienced in research and would like a greater depth and knowledge of the PI role.
Course details:
This 4-hour course will include:
- The legal and legislative requirements of good oversight throughout the research pathway
- Practical examples of best practice and how these can be introduced in your workplace.
- Discussion on real life examples of good practice and inspection findings
The format of the course includes delegates providing input to group discussion and activities as well as presentations and some information giving.
Following the training, participants will:
- Understand the requirements and practical implications of good oversight throughout the research pathway
- Reflect on current practice, identifying areas of good practice and those which could be improved
- Consider practical solutions they can implement to help improve practice where needed
