Thank you for helping to shape the future of women’s health research in Wales.

Who should answer this survey?

NHS practitioners who are working in Wales or who provide care to women, girls, or people registered female at birth who are living in Wales.

What do we mean when we say ‘communication around women’s health’?

Any form of communication (face to face, text messages, emails, written, telephone calls, imagery) relating to any aspect of health experienced by women and girls aged 16+.

What do we mean by NHS services?

Please consider communication experiences with patients or practitioners in the following services:

  • Primary and community care
  • Planned/elective care
  • Urgent and emergency care
  • Child health services
  • Sexual health services
  • Mental health care
  • Public health
  • School nurses

We are not including communication with administrative staff or general issues with services in this survey, e.g. waiting times, which are beyond the scope of this topic.

If you require reasonable adjustments to fill out this survey please email josie.jackson001@gov.wales with the adjustments you need before the 24 October.

Is it confidential?

This is a confidential survey. We will ask for a little information about you. This is so that we can understand who is completing the survey and whether we are hearing from a wide range of people. No parts of the survey are mandatory.

After completing the survey, you will be asked if you would like to be kept informed about the project. This is completely voluntary, and we do not link your survey responses to the details you provide in this form. For more information, see our privacy notice.

Your response might include but should not be restricted to: effective communication channels, cultural and social barriers, accessibility, misinformation, tailoring communication for different demographics, if you have ever felt you have not been able to get the information you need in an appointment, correspondence etc.

You may find it helpful to think about: the communication needs of women at different life stages and from various demographics, communication around availability and access to services, coordination between services, communication for specific populations or communities of women or girls. Please do not feel restricted by these suggestions.

Include areas, ideas, or emerging approaches that you feel could benefit from research. This might include (but is not restricted to) communication approaches for specific communities or health topics, ideas focused on the prevention of health issues, use of digital tools etc. Try to be as detailed as possible.
