Health and Care Research Wales is inviting submissions for TED-style talks for the Health and Care Research Wales conference 2024. This year's conference theme is ‘Research matters’ and will be taking place on 10 October 2024 at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

We are on a mission to explore why research matters to you, as the ones driving the change and shaping the future of health and social care. Whether you're an experienced researcher or a newcomer to the field, industry professional or someone involved in research we want to hear your insights, experiences and visions for the future.
This year, we're particularly interested in abstracts that delve into:
Social care research projects and initiatives
We encourage researchers and social care practitioners to submit abstracts highlighting their projects aimed at expanding social care research or improving practice. Abstracts in this category should emphasise the significance and impact of projects which improve social care services in Wales.
Women’s health focused research
In light of the Welsh Government’s Update on Women’s Health, we invite individuals to share abstracts highlighting their findings, methodologies and outcomes related to women’s health issues. The aim is to inspire and inform others of the importance of women’s health research in today’s world, offering guidance on how to determine the topic of research and what areas of women’s health research matter the most to people in Wales.
Sustainability in research
Within this theme, we are looking for demonstrations of concrete actions that have been taken to increase sustainability in health and social care. Speakers can share initiatives implemented in their organisations to make it more environmentally sustainable, how to implement those changes and how the actions have translated into measurable improvements.
