Ensure the study runs to time and target

Delivering studies in full and on time is important to be able to get the most benefit out of research quickly.

It is important that members of the research team are all aware of the timelines and recruitment targets set for the study so that it is managed in a safe, timely and efficient way.

Delivering the study on time and meeting agreed recruitment targets also ensures the study is kept within budget.

Every research site is accountable for delivering the study on time and meeting agreed recruitment targets and the lead researcher (the Chief Investigator) remains responsible for delivery of the overall study.

Where it is supporting a study, the Health and Care Research Wales support and delivery service provides national oversight of how well studies are delivering and whether they are on track to meet what was agreed. Through doing so the support and delivery service can help identify where any problems with delivery can be predicted and resolved if they occur.
