What is the Health and Care Research Wales Portfolio?
The Health and Care Research Wales Directory is a database of all the health and social care research studies, biobanks and research data registries active in Wales.
The Health and Care Research Wales Portfolio is a database of all the high-quality non-commercial and all the commercial research studies active in Wales. Each UK country manages its own research portfolio and each study must meet specific eligibility criteria.
These studies can be funded by a range of funders - including Welsh Government, National Institute for Health Research, research councils, life sciences industry, charities, central and overseas governments.
Registration on the portfolio is managed automatically through the HRA/Health and Care Research Wales approval process as part of your IRAS application.
If your study does not need HRA/Health and Care Research Wales approval, you can submit your study to the portfolio team for review for adoption onto the portfolio.
If your study is eligible for the portfolio, you have the opportunity to access study delivery support. If it is not eligible for the portfolio all costs for delivering the study must be covered by the host organisation or research grant.
