Submit grant applications for research funding
For non-commercial research studies, suitable funders should be identified early on. Which scheme you apply for will be determined by the topic area and type of research being conducted.
Alongside Health and Care Research Wales funding schemes, independent charities and organisations have schemes often on a disease or topic-specific basis. All schemes have specific eligibility, timescales and aims that the grant application needs to fit with. The Research Design and Conduct Service (RDCS) can help direct you to potential funding schemes that may suit your research.
Funders will be looking to see if there's been public involvement in the research and funding panels will include members of the public who will be part of the review panel. The public reviewers are able to recommend declining bid applications if the public involvement is not considered adequate or meaningful.
