Report study progress

You will need to report on safety issues, study progress, participant recruitment and study impacts to various organisations and review bodies throughout the study.

Reporting of safety and progress of the study will vary according to the type of research but is required to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the study participants and that the study is completed on time.

You will be required to report study progress to the research funding body, ethics committee, NHS or social care organisation where the research is being conducted and any relevant regulatory authority. The reporting schedule will be outlined at the outset of the study.

All Health and Care Research Wales award holders have a contractual requirement to submit information on the outputs and impacts of their research to Researchfish on an annual basis (for the duration of the project, and for five years after completion). Researchfish guidance and FAQs are available and there is further guidance and videos on the Researchfish website.

The next Researchfish window for Health and Care Research Wales project award opens 5 Feb 2024 - 14 March 2024. Those expected to submit will be contacted by the Grants Team.

Safety reporting is provided as required and according to the study protocol.

To ensure you meet all the requirements of safely managing your study, you will need to undertake good clinical practice (GCP) training.
