Developing Evidence Enriched Practice – DEEP
DEEP is a co-productive approach to exploring and using diverse types of evidence in social care policy and practice development.
It has a strong focus on relational ways of learning and working together using stories and reflective dialogue. It is underpinned by five principles:
- Creating an enriched environment of care and learning
- Valuing and using a range of evidence
- Gathering and presenting evidence in meaningful formats
- Effectively talking and thinking together about diverse types of evidence
- Recognising and addressing structural obstacles
This initiative is working to embed the DEEP approach within partner organisations. Online DEEP resources will be made available and interested individuals will be supported to become DEEP catalysts through a learning curriculum and mentorship. DEEP also supports a number of Research and Practice Development Groups and seeks to enhance research capacity in social care, working alongside the research development infrastructure.
